What is a non-separable zip?

A non-separable zip is one that remains in one piece even when fully opened.

These are closures that don't need to be stopped with a case and sleeve, as there's no interlocking to do on start-up. All you have to do to close a non-separable zip is pull up its slider.

Here are some examples of this type of zip :

- handbag and rucksack zips,

- fly zips

- wallet zips

- pocket zips, etc.

Jackets, coats and waistcoats are the opposite of separable fastenings.

How do I install a fly stopper on a pair of jeans?

If you no longer have a zip stopper, you can install one of our replacement stoppers. All you need is a clean fabric and install the stopper at the very bottom of the zip, before the first teeth start. This way, your slider will not come out of the zip when it reaches the bottom, and the teeth will be securely engaged from the start.

The stopper we offer has two pointed hooks that will pierce the fabric and attach to the zip. Then, simply fold the two hooks in such a way that the stopper surrounds the zip (otherwise, it can come off or prick the skin).

Of course, the square part should be installed on the outside of the zip, and on the inside, the two stops will fold over.

Caution: this stop cannot be used as a zip tooth replacement. For example, if you are missing two or three teeth in the middle of your zip, it will not be compatible because it is too large.
