Top stop for zip fastener

These small pieces must be installed at the very top of your zip to prevent the slider coming to the top from coming out of the zip.

To install them, it's quite simple! The fabric should be in good condition, and there must be a small space to install the stopper. Place it on the fabric and press it with pliers to attach it to the zip. The metal should deform a little, as if it were pinching the fabric.

You cannot use these stops to replace a zip tooth, as they are larger than the teeth and it will block the slider's movement.

These stops are suitable for size 3, 4 and 5 zip fasteners.

Size 8 and 10 sliders are very large, so a larger stop is required.

Repairing a zip?

A broken zip doesn't necessarily mean you'll have to change the whole thing, unstitch the original zip and then sew a new one.

There are a wide variety of products specifically designed to repair all damaged zips.

For example, if the slider is the issue, you can install a Clip Zip replacement slider without sewing!

If the problem is with the stopper at the bottom of the zip, you can also replace it with a replacement stopper: either a sleeve box (for single zips) or two sleeves (double zips).

Finally, if your zip is a non-separable one, like those on boots, fly zippers, or handbags, you can also replace the square stop with an affordable replacement stop.
