Here's a table to help you find the right size for your zip sleeve!

What is a stop box/sleeve?

A zip is made up of its teeth and slider, but we tend to forget the importance of the bottom stops. These are the casing and the sleeve.

• They ensure that your zip engages and operates correctly.
• Incorrect engagement can therefore damage your zip, and you will no longer be able to close it because the teeth will not align properly.
• We can see that the zip problems can come not only from the slider but also from its lower stopping points, in other words the case and its sleeve.
• This set allows you to repair the bottom stops of your zip from size 3-4 up to size 10, in the event of a detached case or torn sleeve, without having to replace the whole zip.
• To find the correct size, measure the width of the teeth of your zip when they are engaged together and refer to the measurements just above, under the heading "Sizes of zippers repaired by our box sleeves". Also look at the back of the original case, sometimes the size number is on it and will tell you the size of your sleeve case to use.

• If you are hesitating between size 3 and 5, bear in mind that size 3 corresponds to the size of jeans fly zips or wallet pockets and that size 5 is the standard size for zips on jackets, waistcoats, jackets, bags and much more...
  

Replacing a jacket stopper

(For a jacket: Case/sleeve size 5).

• Replacing this part of the zip may seem a tricky operation, as the stops are generally very small. But it's essential to have stoppers in good condition, otherwise the slider may come out of your zip.

Tip:

Is the bottom of your zip too damaged to fit a case and/or sleeve? In that situation, you can remove one or two teeth, depending on the space you need, and you'll have a clean fabric base on which to repair your case and/or sleeve!
