Repair pack for metal zips:
Pack of 4 Clip Zip sliders: 3A, 5A, 8A, 10A.
These are references that fit quite common metal zippers found on many items such as handbags, jeans' zippers, or jackets. The 10A can even repair large zips like those found on diving suits, for example (excluding OPTI and TIZIP brands).
- 3A : This slider is ideal for repairing jeans or skirt zippers, for example, and fits very small metal zips.
- 5A : This size is very common, and the 5A can repair handbags, coats, and many other items.
- 8A : Fits larger zips like motorcycle jackets, heavy biker jackets, thick winter coats etc.
- 10A : This is our largest size and it fits both plastic and metal zips. It can be used for heavy-duty zippers found on workwear, coveralls, diving suits, and other similar items. These zips are typically used in professional settings or on high-end items due to their specialized construction, such as diving suits.
This pack will enable you to repair several items containing zips of different sizes. All our sliders are clip-on, so they can be reused!
How to repair a jacket zip?
Installing a Clip Zip slider takes just a few seconds and is accessible to everyone.
- The first step is to use pliers to remove the defective slider, the original one.
- Next, you need to open the Clip Zip slider. To do this, use the wedge that comes with the slider when you make your purchase.
- Install the slider on your zip, making sure it grips both rows of teeth. Clip it on and you're done!

Metal zips: some features
It's quite easy to visually distinguish metal zips: they are typically brass in color. The teeth have a very straight shape with a somewhat squared end where they engage. Plastic zips, on the other hand, have square teeth at the base with a rounded end where they engage.
Can't decide on the type of teeth for your zip? You can e-mail us photos of your item, and we'll help you find the right slider: serviceclient@clip-zip.ca
The advantage of the metal pack is that it groups together widely used sliders for a large variety of items. The 3A is the slider for jeans fly par excellence! Size 5 is the one you'll find almost everywhere, usually on bags and coats. Size 8 can be found on zippers that are a little larger, but just as much a part of everyday life, and finally size 10A is used to repair very large knits, generally on more expensive items.
